1988-2003: growing, climbing, playing, learning
2003-2010: studying, thinking, creating, graduating
2010-2014: travelling, exploring, interning, living
2014-current: creating beautiful things & loving it!
I am a designer and photographer based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. It was in the Okanagan Valley, though, where my creative path began. I developed a love for art and all things creative at an early age, but it wasn’t until high school that I discovered my favourite creative outlet; photography.
Photography quickly became my medium of choice and I pursued it further when I entered UBC’s BFA program. My hard work and passion for the arts earned me scholarships and awards upon graduating. I am very thankful for these important years at art school. Not only did they make me a better photographer, but they made me an artist; giving me a firm foundation in critical thinking and developing creative concepts, which I still apply to my work today.
In 2014 I decided to expand my skillset and study graphic design at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Since completing the program, my adoration and knowledge for design has grown substantially while working with design agencies and as a freelancer.
Currently, I am the Creative Director at Billy Smith Design Group in Vancouver, and I love what I do! Having the ability to use both my photography and design backgrounds at work keeps my career fulfilling and challenging – I’m constantly learning and growing as a result!
