My last photo shoot of 2016 turned out to be one of my favourites! On Christmas Day my mom and I decided to combine our creativity by setting up an outdoor winter tablescape to photograph! Inspired by this gorgeous twig chandelier made by my talented mother, we went for a rustic winter theme, filled with naturally inspired elements.
Since my mom lives up in the hills of Ellison in the Okanagan Valley, we had no shortage of beautiful woodsy spots to shoot. After scouting multiple locations we finally settled on this small clearing, freshly dusted with snow under a beautiful pine tree with a sweeping branch to frame the scene.
The cool thing about collaborating on projects just for fun, is that sometimes they can open new doors. After photographing the table setting, I took a few photos of my mom in one of her gorgeous dresses from Holy Clothing who make timeless boho and renaissance pieces. My mom shared these photos with the clothing company and they liked them so much that they asked her to be a brand influencer for them! How awesome is that?!
And of course, when we were done we celebrated by polishing off the bottle of wine from Ancient Hills Winery. Thanks to my other half for catching these post-shoot moments for us!
Well, that’s a wrap 2016! I can’t wait to see what exciting opportunities will come up in the New Year!
